Tata Trusts pledges Rs 500 crore to fight Covid-19

Tata Sons chairman emeritus Ratan Tata on Saturday announced a commitment of Rs 500 crore to protect and empower communities affected by the deadly coronavirus. The amount will be jointly contributed by Tata Trusts, Tata Sons and the Tata Group companies.

Expert group to look into AGR claims row

The government will form an expert group to decide over Rs 82,300-crore disputed AGR (adjusted gross revenue) claims that have arisen due to differences between the outstanding payment sought by the telecom department (DoT) and those claimed by private telecom companies such as Vodafone Idea, Airtel and Tata Group.

Walmart’s cash-&-carry biz may go to Flipkart

Flipkart group is likely to acquire the loss-making wholesale cash-and-carry business of its parent US retail giant Walmart in India. The move comes shortly after talks with the Tata Group, which was looking to pick up a stake in Walmart India, made no headway.

Nusli Wadia withdraws cases against Ratan Tata

Bombay Dyeing chairman Nusli Wadia withdrew all defamation cases — including the Rs 3,000 crore suit — against Tata group chairman emeritus Ratan Tata and others. Wadia had filed a criminal defamation case against Ratan Tata and other directors of Tata Sons in 2016 after he was voted out of the board of some Tata Group companies.

Supreme Court stays NCLAT order on Cyrus Mistry

The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the NCLAT decision to restore Cyrus Mistry as executive chairman of the Tata Group. Tata Sons Private Ltd had challenged the December 18 decision of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal that gave a big relief to Cyrus Investment Pvt Ltd and Mistry, restoring him as the executive chairman of TSPL.
