Tax pacts may help foreign investors

Abolition of dividend distribution tax (DDT) and going back to the classical system of taxing dividend in the hands of shareholders or unit holders may encourage foreign investors to pump in funds through countries with which India has double tax avoidance agreement (DTAA). Such countries include Mauritius, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Singapore.
