Belarus will not allow a “stab in the back” the Russian army through its territory, President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich. on the side, from the flanks of the Russian troops should not be. And it won't. This is our obligation to our ally, — said Lukashenka (quote from BelTA).
He also asked Volfovich to briefly report on the situation on the southern border of Belarus, noting that he instructed him and the Ministry of Defense “taking into account our experience since the beginning of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, to work out in practice our actions on the border with Ukraine.”
«We had some experience of counteraction there, including the creation of battalion tactical groups, covering the border. What is the situation now and how are we going to act there?»— asked the President of Belarus.
He asked the same question about covering the northwestern border. “Where there are real threats. Necessarily. This is the main thing for our army. Again, there is no need to reproach us that we are going to fight there in Ukraine and so on. We need to protect our Fatherland,»,— Lukashenka said.
In the northwest, Belarus borders on Lithuania, in the west— with Poland, and in the north— with Latvia.
