Senator Alexei Pushkov noted in his Telegram channel that Hungary was forced to join the sanctions against Russia because of its membership in the European Union.

He clarified that, given the position of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, this situation should look “paradoxical.”

“Orban criticizes the sanctions imposed against Russia, but Budapest supported all the restrictions. This paradox is explained by the fact that it is still impossible to be in the EU and be free from the European Union,” Pushkov added.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is sure that the West’s military strategy regarding the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is not works. He stated this on the air of the country's second most popular radio station, Kossuth. According to the politician, it is a delusion to believe that the Ukrainian army will be able to defeat the Russian Armed Forces with the help of Western weapons.
