Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovich condemned the decision of the partially recognized Kosovo, which from August 1 will consider documents issued by the Serbian authorities invalid on its territory. This is reported by N1info.
According to the minister, the Kosovo authorities are “literally preparing hell in the coming days.” for the Serbs living there. “The situation is extremely complex, given the international and regional circumstances,” — Selakovich said, adding. that President Aleksandar Vučić will meet with Serb representatives from Kosovo and Metohija.
Selakovich recalled that “the unilateral decision of [Kosovo Prime Minister] Albin Kurti will soon come into force, and such actions have never brought anything good.” He did not specify exactly what steps Belgrade would take.
The Kosovo authorities had previously announced that from next week, Serbian citizens who enter the territory of the republic will receive a temporary border crossing document and Serbian documents will be considered invalid. In Pristina, they said that this decision— a response to the actions of Belgrade, which does not recognize the certificates issued by Kosovo.
Vucic also said that from September 30, Pristina plans to ban entry into Kosovo on Serbian internal documents, as well as on cars with Serbian numbers. According to the president, in this way Pristina wants to achieve the “expulsion of the Serbs”; and is planning an attack on northern Kosovo. He promised “sober, but deadly accurate and truthful” answer.
Kosovo was previously an autonomous republic within Serbia, but in 2008 it declared its independence. It was recognized by most of the EU countries and more than a hundred countries— UN members. Russia, China, Iran, Serbia and a number of other countries have not recognized Kosovo as a separate state.
