Zelensky arrived at the port of Chornomorsk before the resumption of grain exports
Ukraine is ready to transport grain and is waiting for a signal from partners, Zelensky said. Export will start first from the port of Chornomorsk, and within two weeks from Odessa and Yuzhny
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the port of Chornomorsk in the Odessa region, from where to leave the first ships with grain since the beginning of the Russian military operation. This is reported by the office of the head of state.
“The first ship is being loaded since the beginning of the war. This is a Turkish ship. This indicates that the port is up and running»,— he said.
According to Zelensky, the export will begin with the departure of several ships that were loaded, but could not go on a voyage due to the outbreak of hostilities. Ukraine is ready for transportation and is waiting for a signal from partners— representatives of the UN and Turkey. “Our military will guarantee the security situation,” — he added.
The President of Ukraine said that grain deliveries will begin in the coming days. UN Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths previously admitted that this would happen as early as July 29. Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Yuriy Vaskov, in turn, said that exports from Chornomorsk would begin this week, and from the ports of Odessa and Yuzhny— within two weeks.

Ambassadors of the G7 countries, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Remy Duflo and UN representatives also visited the port together with Zelensky.
On July 22, Russia and Ukraine separately signed agreements with Turkey and the UN, which will allow the removal of grain stuck with the beginning of hostilities on Ukrainian territory. Vessels will be accompanied by Ukrainian pilots, and in a safe corridor in the Black Sea— the Russian and Turkish fleets, as well as a third party that has not yet been identified. At the entrance and exit from the Black Sea, the vessels will be inspected by representatives of the joint coordination center opened in Istanbul to make sure that they do not carry weapons and ammunition.
