Kim Jong-un: North Korea is ready for any clashes with the United States The leader of the DPRK announced the readiness of nuclear deterrence forces to mobilize at any time. According to him, the country's armed forces are also ready for any clashes with the United States, and in the event of a strike from South Korea, it will be destroyed

The North Korean armed forces are ready to respond to any crisis, including a clash with the United States, and the country's nuclear deterrent is ready to mobilize at any moment, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said in his speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the truce in the Korean War, reports the South Korean Yonhap agency. .

“Our armed forces are now fully prepared to respond to any crisis, and our country's nuclear deterrent is also in full readiness to mobilize its absolute power faithfully, accurately and quickly to fulfill its mission,”— quotes his words to the agency.

At the same time, the North Korean leader warned the South Korean government and its President Yun Sok-yeol that in case of attempts to confront the DPRK militarily, Seoul and its army would be destroyed. Among other things, he noted the creation of a platform for a preemptive missile strike, Kill Chain, the development of which was repeatedly discussed in Seoul. “Such a dangerous attempt will be immediately thwarted by powerful forces, and Yun Seok-yeol's regime and his army will be destroyed,” threatened Kim Jong-un.

Yonhap notes that this is the first time a North Korean leader has named a South Korean president since the latter came to power in May this year. Even before his election as president in March of this year, Yoon Seok-yeol took a hard line on national security and allowed a preemptive strike to respond to the threats of the DPRK.

The anniversary of the end of the Korean War is the national holiday of the DPRK. The fighting on the Korean Peninsula began on June 25, 1950 and ended on July 27, 1953, when a ceasefire was concluded. South Korea was supported by a coalition of 17 states led by the United States, and on the side of the North were China, the Soviet Union and several communist countries, including Czechoslovakia and the GDR.

At the end April Kim Jong-un, at a meeting with the command staff of the Korean army, called on the military to be ready to “preemptively and thoroughly suppress all dangerous attempts and threatening actions, including nuclear threats from hostile forces.”

Before that, his sister and deputy director of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of the DPRK, Kim Yo-jong, allowed the use of nuclear weapons in response to military actions by South Korea, although Pyongyang opposes war with Seoul and does not consider it the main enemy.

A few days before the announcement, Seo Wook, amid reports of North Korea launching a projectile that looks like a ballistic missile, said that the South Korean military “possesses a large number and various types of missiles” that can “accurately and quickly hit any targets in North Korea". He also said that Seoul would improve its missile defense system to respond to the “missile threats from the North.”

Since the beginning of the year, Seoul has repeatedly reported ballistic missile launches by Pyongyang, and on July 10 announced that the DPRK had launched several projectiles from multiple launch rocket systems in several trajectories. In addition, fears have been expressed in South Korea and the United States that the DPRK may soon begin its seventh nuclear test.
