The Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev announced in his Telegram channel that he offered the ex-head of the region Eduard Rossel to become his adviser and head the Supervisory Board of the Gora Belaya tourism cluster.

“I hope he agrees,” — Kuyvashev wrote, expressing confidence that Rossel “will work for the benefit of the region for many more years.”

Rossel has been representing the Sverdlovsk Region in the Federation Council for 13 years. On the eve of Kuyvashev, submitting documents to the election commission for participation in the gubernatorial elections to be held in September, he introduced three candidates for the post of senator. Rossel was not on the list. “We discussed this decision with Eduard Ergartovich” it is our joint»,— explained the head of the region.

«Eduard Rossel— a legendary person, an example for every Ural politician and official, an example for me personally. It was under him that the Sverdlovsk region became the leading region of the country, became known as a free land of strong people, — written by Kuyvashev.

Rossel previously told E1 that he refused to continue working in the Federation Council for family reasons: “Evgeny Vladimirovich [Kuyvashev long ago] told me that as long as he is governor, I will be a member of the Federation Council. But I have serious family problems, I cannot be away from home for six or ten days.

Rossel in 1990 became chairman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Council of People's Deputies. A year later, he was appointed to the post of head of the administration of the Sverdlovsk region. In this post, he adhered to a policy aimed at obtaining economic independence for the region. Offering the creation of the Ural Republic, which lasted five months, he justified this by saying that the region “does not need sovereignty, but economic and legislative independence is very necessary.”

Kuyvashev has been heading the region since 2012, he decided to run for a third term as a United Russia candidate. In the list of his candidates for senators, he included the head of Yekaterinburg, Alexei Orlov, the director of the Sverdlovsk medical college, Irina Levina, and the first deputy secretary of the regional branch of United Russia; Viktor Sheptiya.
