US vows ‘strong and quick’ response to North Korean nuclear test
U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman promised a “strong and swift” response to Pyongyang's nuclear test during her visit to South Korea.
Yonhap News Agency reported that U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman promised a “strong and swift” response to Pyongyang's nuclear test during her visit to South Korea.
Recall that the representative of the White House arrived in South Korea on an official visit on Monday. Today, she held a meeting in Seoul with First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Cho Hyun-don. The topic of their conversation was the missile launches of North Korea.
According to her, nuclear tests are a violation of the UN Security Council resolution. Among other things, she urged Kim Jong-un not to take “dangerous, provocative and destabilizing actions”, but to turn his attention to problems with the spread of coronavirus in the country.
“Such a test would immediately be followed by a decisive and quick answer. I believe that the whole world will react clearly and decisively. Now everyone is ready for this,” Sherman added.
