Gladkov announced the evacuation of the village after shelling from Ukraine

Residents of the village of Solokhi in the Belgorod region, which was shelled by Ukraine, will be taken to a safe place, said Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of the region, on his Telegram channel.

According to the regional Ministry of Health, one person died, the number of people injured during the shelling increased to six. Earlier, Gladkov spoke about three wounded.

The governor denied the media reports about the second dead— 14 year old teenager. “I report that this is not so. The boy is alive and is in the regional hospital. He is receiving all the necessary medical care,»,— he wrote. Earlier, the Baza Telegram channel reported the second death.

The village of Solokhi is located in the Belgorod region, a few kilometers from the border with the Kharkov region of Ukraine. The settlement was shelled on the evening of May 11; one residential building was partially destroyed, the reeds also caught fire. Gladkov assured that the houses in the village were not on fire. The governor called the situation “the most severe since the shelling.”

Belgorod authorities have been reporting shelling from Ukraine for several months. On February 24, the day the Russian military operation began in the neighboring country, Gladkov spoke about the explosion of several shells that had flown into the territory of the region. Then two adults and a child were injured, seven houses were damaged. The Investigative Committee opened a case on the attempted murder of two or more persons. The settlements of Zhuravlevka, Otradnoye, Golovchino and others fell under shelling, the last such incident was reported by the authorities on May 5.
