The Fiji prosecutor's office asked the court to prohibit journalists and any persons present at the meetings from publishing confidential data regarding the arrested Amadea superyacht, FBC reports. Fiji authorities link the ship to Russian billionaire and senator Suleiman Kerimov.
The agency insists that court hearings should be held behind closed doors, as sworn statements contain information that, in the opinion of the authorities, should not be made public.
According to Bloomberg, “associated with Kerimov” the yacht followed from March 12 from Barbados to one of the ports of Fiji.
Amadea moored in the port of Lautoka on April 13, according to the FBC TV channel, the ship entered the exclusive economic zone of Fiji without a permit, and was detained upon arrival at the port. The crew of the superyacht was left on board pending the completion of the investigation. On April 19, the Fiji authorities banned Amadea from leaving territorial waters.
The ship sails under the flag of the Cayman Islands. According to the German shipbuilding company L & uuml; rssen, the Amadea yacht was built in 2017 at the Hamburg shipyard. Its length— 106m, the crew consists of 36 people. Superyacht Fan valued Amadea at $325 million
